The few times I listened to Mix 102.7 the past month or so, I don't recall ever hearing the slogan "New York's Classic Hits". If WNEW flips to classic hits, maybe this will be their slogan.
I've never heard that slogan said on the air, but it is on their website. Thus another way to confuse listeners. This station is a mess!! Don't wait until after New Year's to change formats - change it now!!
Classic Hits as it is exeacuted in most Markets (sounding closer to classic rock then oldies) would have around 75% of it's music allready played by 101.1 Jack FM. The two stattions would canabolize each other far mare then had Jack launched on 102.7 WNEW in June 2005 and 101.1 WCBS kept Oldies.
Classic Hits as it is exeacuted in most Markets (sounding closer to classic rock then oldies) would have around 75% of it's music already played by 101.1 Jack FM.
Now look what happened in the Hudson Valley. WBPM has flipped to Classic Hits as "Classic Hits 92.9". They're now playing the same music as "Jack" does on 101.1 and on Q-104 WAXQ. This was the first time in two years when WCBS-FM flipped to "Jack" from oldies when WBPM's former "Cool 92.9" (formerly owned by Clear Channel) kept on the air for the next two years. Now two years later, they flipped again. Thanks to Pamal for this new format. Classic Hits is not coming to New York City anytime soon.
