hello all.
I'm very new to this forum. I don't know if I'm posting in the right place or not. Please direct me to the correct forum if not appropriate here.

I have been a fan of talk radio for many years. When I first started listening, the talk show host covered many and various topics. Now, it is impossible to find any topic but politics. i do enjoy listening to many of the conservative talk radio hosts but would like some other choices. I really miss the likes of Bruce Williams, Sally Jessie Rafael, etc. These host could talk intelligently about any subject a caller wished to talk about. There was some politics of course but also talk of travel, finances, hobbies, and any other topic one could think about.

My question is "are there any of that type of talk shows still available." I am in central California but am willing to listen on the internet (iheartradio as an example).

Some NPR stations carry some variety in talk. (Some are heavily into Classical Music and don't offer much talk, or much variety of talk.)

I've only been to California once in my lifetime and searching for talk radio was not at the forefront of my "To Do List" but I would think other than the northeast corridor (NYC to Boston) California would possibly be a garden of talk compared to much of the U.S.

-Clark Howard - (consumer issues)
-Leo Laporte - (tech)
-Kim Komando (tech)
-John & Ken - KFI (general talk, some politics but not too much)
-Curtis & Kuby - WABC (general talk, some politics but not too much)
-Jim Bohannon (late night)
-John Batchelor (late night)
-Jon Greyson (live overnights)
-Bloomberg Radio - only in NY and Boston but can be streamed (oriented toward business and finance but also shows about tech, the law, education -- interviews, not phone-in talk)

-Curtis & Kuby - WABC (general talk, some politics but not too much)

WABC in general has made some nice improvements. They are much more listenable, IMHO, now than they have been in years.

Most of that kind of stuff is weekend programming. One of the biggest hosts in the country is an advice show. Dave Ramsey.

I'd also add Handel on the Law on weekends.

A combination of those hosts might add up to Bruce Williams. But nothing will ever really measure up to Bruce because he had such a varied background. Bruce Williams was one of a kind.

I lament the loss of Bruce Williams as well. He was, IMO, by far the best talk host ever. I loved that show. The shows above are likely available via TuneIn or iHeart as well.
