Newburgh-Middletown Ratings

WINNERS: All I can says PAMAL. Of course its only 12+ but still very nice gains for WHUD and WSPK too.

It appears WPDH is pulling listeners from RRV as they are up and down respectively.

LOSERS: WGNY/TSX. Fox needs to do something. Quite a funk from the impressive numbers a year ago.

Fox needs a fresh start.

New owners, new format, new station name, maybe even new slogan.

I was listening to "Classic Rock Saturday Night" (that's what John Roberts is calling it) and they played a Sheryl Crow song. I used to enjoy listening to John, but not anymore.

Fresh start would be great.

Also get rid of the ABC jocks.

WHUD has the best ratings. Thanks Pamal! ;D

I've seen other ratings in the Newburgh/Middletown area. WFKP, another Lite-FM simulcast of the three stations is going nowhere, 92.1 did great in Poughkeepsie, but on 98.5 in Catskill, the numbers are no good. WGNY-AM had oldies running but it doesn't get any ratings and so does WBPM, that oldies station in Saugerties. That doesn't even close into Newburgh at all and it had no ratings. It was 20 miles north of Newburgh.

I am a little suprised that WGNY-FM is still listed separate from WTSX-FM, since it's been a year since WTSX started simucasting WGNY-FM. Also, I am curious as to why they deiced to alter the Satuday Night programming from Retro Saturday Nite to Classic Rock Saturday Nite, given that their format is the a mix of Today's Hits and Yesterday's Favorites.

I couldn't agree more. I guess I am puzzled by what's happened over the last year for them.

I think we all appreciate you rambling on about nothing that relates to N/M ratings. Most forums would consider this a troll.

Stations decide whether they want to be listed together or seperately, it's not automatic. It has been long enough that if they wanted it combined you probably would have seen it by now, so they have opted not to. It does make some sense for them given it's not a 100% simulcast. There also were 2 morning shows not that long ago.

WGNY has a very serious leadership problem. They need a total cleansing.

The FM was actually doing better for some time, but after placing Joe Manglass (?) on the 103.1 morning show, the decline was drastic. Is Bob O. a good long-term solution? He still needs at least another quarter or two while the station tries to figure out, formatwise, in which direction they should head.

They have killed the AM a long time ago. After trying to ressurect it, they went back to canned oldies (but had little chance of cometing with any local FM oldies station) and seem to have left it for dead, even though they are now permitted to heavily increase its power.

Yes, the ABC jocks are too generic and have to go.

Congratulations (again) to Pamal. They are professionals, and their stations are run well.

The station is not in solid hands.
