Yes it's a new man here. Found this forum while trying to get some info on a new station I recently found. I find it interesting that there would be a site about radio listeners like myself who has been a radio guy most of my life. Since the early 60's I guess. Moved through the AM Beatles to the FM Beatles. When I got into construction in the early 70's I found the radio as indispensible as any of my tools and never left home without it. Still carry a portable around with me as I tinker about. No new fangled ipods or whatever new hi-tech gadgets for me. So I believe I will peruse this forum to see if there are any like minded minds like me and see what's up. Hey even if you're old and gray you still got something to say. So who sang that line? Anybody? Anybody?

There are several like-minded posters on these boards. Just don't dig your heels in too deeply about how much better music was in the '60s or how much better radio was back then, or you'll get a healthy dose of reality in return! I turn 70 next year and still listen to a lot of contemporary music (mostly country but some pop, rock and r&B) just to keep from backsliding into nostalgia mode. The one radio thing I don't do anymore is listen to AM. Welcome!

Oh no I don't just want to hear 60's music, if I hear a song that sounds good to me I like it. Lots of good stuff from every decade. Even every century. But I do seem to gravitate to a stations that do 60's and 70's underground but I do like a dose of 80's and 90's thrown in. And there was a lot of good songs from the 2006-2014 period. So something current needs a listen. I mean a song can get worn out if you hear it too often.
I may have to google that line. I think it was either Tom Petty solo or with the Traveling Willberrys. I went and quoted that line and didn't really know for sure so I've been trying to figure it out for myself. Hey this is what you have to look forward to now that you hit 70. Welcome aboard! Turning 70 this summer, and, yes, I like a lot of variety, from the 50’s til today… esp songs that have yet to break out. One of my nephews keeps me somewhat up to date. Please participate often!
