news 10 seconds faster in VT from NY...

I was listening to 880am tonight here in northern VT to WXXS 102.3 Fm ( I was wanting to figure out to see if it was the same news I was also checking out other stations.) and to my very surprise WXXS was delivering the news 10 seconds faster. WTF is up with that? shouldn't the delay be the other way around where WXXS is slower in delivering the news because of a delay of the delivery by satellite?
does that also mean when 880 does the hour tone that it is 8 seconds behind the real tone because of HD?

Any delay from the satellite is probably offset by the longer delay for WCBS caused by, probably, a combination of the HD encoding and possibly a delay system.
