News 4 joins with Magic?

.... out of Dothan, AL. ???

Listening to 101.1 today and heard the spots. So 101 (does not reach
Dothan) carries News 4 spots with commercials out of Dothan. Trying
to figure out the logic here. Can't see any, unless 101 is planning on
doing a simulcast/flipping a station in Dothan to talk. My little birds
say this is not likely. (chirp - chirp)
 
Magical could not make a deal with anyone in the market, they burned 13, 7 is with CC and even though they tried to get it the Tom Lewis connection is an obvious reason as to why that would not happened. 4 is a non-entity, so maybe they should team up with the Magical ones. They lost 13 because they have incompetent management and this same incompetent management scrambled to grab something, anything they could. This is what they came up with. News from Dothan makes no sense, other than filler. So for filler, I suggest 2 minute Bernie Thompson snippets, that is the only answer to what ails 101.
 
WTVY and WJHG are both still owned by Gray, right? Is Gray going to be feeding news from WJHG while promoting WTVY to get around the Clear Channel contract?
 
News 4 has always been partners with Magic...for their Dothan stations.

As for adding Panama City to the mix....it's like promoting WTVY radio on the Magic PC stations as an alternative to WPAP and Kat Country.

Must respectfully disagree.

Promoting music is one thing ... you can listen to that country song on this station or listen to it on that station.

Airing news that has absolutely no point of reference to a community is something entirely different. Just as you would probably have little interest in the local elections of Minot, ND the vast majority of the P.C. area audience has little interest in the news of Dothan and its surrounding areas.
 
Morons at Magical have no clue what to do the "hometown news." It is now gone and it's a shame I was wondering what was going on in Dothan this morning. Yet ANOTHER brilliant move by Magical Broadcastings Magical Management Team. When 94.5 flips that station is going to suffer.

The only question is does CCPC have the killer instinct? I say no, expect a lackluster product which will allow Magic and WFLA to split the audience.
