EVERY Philly AM has chunks of the metro where the station is, for the most part, unlistenable at night (especially to the 99.99% of the population who'll never frequent radio message boards).
I'm almost within walking distance of the Chester County line, and WPEN is pretty much tied with KYW for the strongest signal I get at night. Prior to IBOC, it had a beautiful night sound (especially with the hint of reverb).
It's just another reason the 100+ year-old technology of AM needs to be retired.
Back to the Jody Mac pairing-- I personally liked hearing Jody solo for the past three years. I don't have anything against Harry Mayes (in fact I liked him with the other guy in the middays before ESPN came in). But I haven't really been able to hear him with Harry outside of a few minutes here and there. Is this being done for programming purposes, or to take some of the burden off a still-recovering Jody?
