NEWS CHANNEL 3, WTKR

Seems like they have lost everyone almost , according to VARTV.com. Is all their replacements going to make the station come up in the ratings? Or is their never gonna be hope for this station to get a top news cast again.

And how is their news gonna run for the next few weeks, even months if like everyone is gone....????

If you still have a job at Channel 3, then you better start praying that are still in the building.

It's been going steadily down hill since they fired Stan Garfin in the Friday night massacre. It reminds me of that salsa commercial --- "It's made in New York City!" How could people in NYC possibly know how to run a TV station in Norfolk.? WTKR's ratings at 6 pm ET are lower than Judge Judy on WGNT. It's easy to see why. Although WAVY's and WVEC's evening newscasts aren't a whole lot better. All three stations have "personalities" (I can't bring myself to call them "newsmen" or "journalists") who speak in non-sentences. Many of them pronounce words that end in "d" with a "t" sound. And I'm tired of hearing stories that start with "That's right Tom", or "That's right, Alveta." They should be talking to me, not to each other. Commercial minutes are far too many. It's easy to lose interest. I'm tired of seeing "News time" used to promote upcoming CBS prime time programs. There is a time for that, and it isn't in the middle of a local newscast.

What WTKR needs to do is get rid of Barbara and Kurt and quit the split-edition crap and get a whole new anchor team for the evenings.

Secondly, they need a full revamp... no more "Your NewsChannel 3". Please. Sooo annoying...

And what station puts out a "holiday greeting card"? http://www.wtkr.net/NC3_card.pdf
