News Corp. considering splitting up its media properties

http://money.cnn.com/2012/06/26/news/companies/news-corp-split/index.htm

We've seen this recently among media companies, such as CBS/Viacom, Belo, Time Warner Cable splitting from its namesake corporation, among others. In this instance, News is considering splitting its newspaper/publishing business (Wall Street Journal, New York Post, Times of London, HarperCollins) from its entertainment business (20th Century Fox, Fox Broadcasting, etc.), and form two separate publicly-traded companies. In a similar story I read today in the Huffington Post, News has considered the split for several years, long before the whole phone-hacking contreversy.
