News from Country Legends Big News!

legends is a joke...take there name "country legends" how is that your name but you hear the eagles , ccr , juice newton , gordon lightfoot and dobbie grey , each 8 times a day it seems.....but merle haggard , buck owens , hank williams mayyyybe once a day!!!!!

its a joke of a radio station

Yep, it has gotten pretty sad..I can almost predict every day when "You never even call me by my name" plays or other similar songs....once a week maybe but once a 24 hrs??? STOP IT!!!

Cox wants to besure every song is very top researched song so not to turn a listener away.

I hate that way of thinking. Gordon Lightfoot was a cross over in his day! I will defend them there.

Juice Newton had a few hits in the 80s on Country formats. Dobie Grey was a crossover as well, same with some Eagles music and maybe the CCR cuts played on legeds, but are they really "Country Legends" is the question. There's alot of great old country music that is not even being touched while these artists are being played as the legends of country music. It puzzles me.

Tubby is a great guy to have in the building wherever that building may be.

Thanks for all the kind words this is a crazy business we work in hope to be back on the dial soon or my next gig might be " would you like fries with your order"

Tubby ;D

Hey Tubby! Great to hear from you. As the "other," much more lower profile casualty from 7-17, I dont think there's any future in radio, but w/ you frying potatoes and me climbing flare stacks in refineries, there is still plenty o' work.

Call me & lets come up with a plan. I'm not really interested in playing "weekend jock" for anybody, and I'm dead set against voice-tracking, or card reading. Not really interested in staying in the biz, unless someone wants to do it right, but call me for some ideas.

Tubby I am your biggest fan. I miss your show. Best wishes! Hope to hear you soon!

Again, thank you I am hoping to stay in Houston but right now not having any luck finding any local openings. I have always said everything in radio is set in Jell-O so something may pop here. :)

Tubby, definitely one of the good guys left in the radio world.

Maybe one of these days the rulers of radio will realize how much it cost them to save a little money cutting all the talented workers.

I know of a club DJ gig at a predominantly country bar if you are interested. Know of a gig in a topless joint too.

email me at [email protected] if you are interested.

By the way tell your son I haven't forgotten about the audio I have that I was going to send him...been busy since my last day in radio & haven't had much time for side projects.

Hmmmm..... Tubby goes Topless... I can see it getting lots of TV press on local news during sweeps week. Might sell some Mattresses for Mac as well.

Kevin
