News on Cool 102

The news on Cool 102 sucks -- it grinds the show to a halt. It's way, way too long. Do we care that there are hikes in UMass taxes, or about charter schools? No.
If you are going to rip all your news from the AP/ Cape Cod Times at least make it short.

Finally there is a music intro...making it sound half-way produced instead of Wayne's World. Also get someone who can say Barack Obama...it's Barack...like "rock", not like "rack" of clothes.

On the other hand the sports news was short, to the point, w/ a music bed under it. Good.

Why do non-news formats insist on news anyway..if I want news I will listen to NPR, XTK, look at the internet at work...CNN.com, Boston.com, Capecodonline.com. If you're not going to put money into getting local sound/coverage, rethink what you're doing.

QRC is for senior citizens.

I would rather listen to Joe in the morning on Cool...I like the music...and I like him in the mornings.

Surely you're not referring to QRC's music as being for senior citizens, unless you haven't listened to the station for several years. I'm amazed that they still have the kind of news coverage that they do, with the Hot AC music that they're playing these days.

When I hear that clanging bell at the top of the hour, automatically I think of old people gathered around their radios listening to QRC. Yes, I know it is Hot AC/CHR, but I would rather set my ears on fire than listen to David Cook and Kate Perry every other hour.

There news isn't much different than any other station...they also rip audio and AP news. So they get a sound bite over the phone...so what.

The only time I want to hear music on Hot AC is if the cape cod mall is on fire or if there is a hurricane. I don't really care if they report about a cop who got into a fight at the garden. I can read it in the Cape Cod Times on the web.

I am the new COOL 102 morning guy – formally the afternoons on WCOD. I’m sure that when these discussion boards were first introduced it was to trade info and opinions. It goes way beyond that far too many times. The personal attacks and insults have got to stop. Everyone is going through tough and terrible times. If you’ve got something to say to and/or about someone – tell it to them and don’t take the cowards route and post and run. If you can spew this vile upon another person who is trying their best to make a difference in this industry – then it’s obvious you aren’t in the game anymore. It pains me that someone would say I’m o.k. but rip apart the station at the same time. I am a part of the station – and the station is a part of me. Be a man and sign your name like I am. Thanks to all who realize that this is radios darkest hour and doing what you can to succeed speaks volumes. Joe Rossetti WCIB COOL 102

Hey Joe - nice to hear from someone in the business. You and Kevin did a good job at, "that other station," but in this economy, stuff happens. Congrats on landing on your feet so quickly - all the best in the new gig!

Right On! Joe!

While I suppose I understand that from time to time a listener is going to come by these boards and give us their ego-centric gripes ("How come you guys play so many commerials?")...I've always wondered how many people who "aren't in the game anymore" and come by these boards with all sorts of resentment that others are still working...and like you said is "trying to make a difference".

I know many people working in radio who refuse to come by these boards because they are so negative.
