News on KFI's new stick?

What's the latest on KFI getting it's new stick in place?

Very soon now. They got FAA authorization for abot 100 feet less than before, and will build a tower with a 60 foot wide top hat to electrically conform to a half-wave radiatior.

The only "top hats" I have ever seen are on the three towers for KWKU Pomona. They look a tad on the goofy side.

See if you can find poictures of WPAT AM 930 in New Jersey. Maybe on Fybush.com. Very typical 30's era tophats.

Some stations do top loading by keeping the topmost guy wire uninsulated from the tower part way down. This works, also.
