News Radio 1620 & 92.3 Pensacola

They finally did an official launch for WNRP's Pensacola translator this morning. Seems like they shot themselves in the foot by branding the station News Radio 1620 for all these years.

Nope. Stuff happens. You just add another frequency to the slogan and move on. That is what we did.

Still no print, tv, or billboard advertising for WNRP 92.3.

Papa Don's be pushing his new translator "FM Talk 103.7 WPNN 790 AM" on as many billboards as Alexander Shunnara. Probably the biggest billboard radio promotion I've seen in Pensacola in the last 20 years.

How much will WPNN and WNRP's translators hurt WCOA and WEBY?
WEBY badly needs a translator on their nighttime tower in Milton. High school sports would pay for it. A second translator in Pensacola would be nice too.

I read an article on the other site that said new translator rules only require the station to be within 25 miles of the AM site. ADX's 94.5 in Milton now looks like a perfect simulcast partner for WNRP 1620/92.3... assuming they can overcome interference from WFLF-FM on 94.5 with the inland signal (94.5 fit but didn't work in Fort Walton on the coast.)
Figure out how to cover Navarre, and WNRP would have full Pensacola market coverage.
