CRIBS, PIMP MY RIDE TO AZ-TV!
AZ-TV (KAZT, Channel 27/Cable 13) is pleased to announce the addition of Cribs and Pimp My Ride to its weekend lineup beginning in September 2008.
Cribs takes viewers into the homes and lifestyles of today’s stars of movies, television, music and professional sports, while Pimp My Ride, the original automotive makeover show, creates customized masterpieces for everyday people. Both shows originated on the MTV cable network.
“These shows have demonstrated enormous demographic appeal”, said Michael Hagerty, AZ-TV’s Director of Programming and Promotion. “It’s not just teens and twenties watching on MTV…there are strong 18-49 adult numbers, too. And we’ve learned from Reno 911! that cable shows can do even better once they begin airing on AZ-TV.”
Cribs and Pimp My Ride will join AZ-TV’s expansion of its programming beyond comedy. The station will debut a 2-hour daily court block with Judge Maria Lopez and Judge Karen in fall 2008. Comedy will remain a key part of AZ-TV’s programming, however…with Everybody Hates Chris scheduled to premiere in fall 2009.
AZ-TV is Arizona’s only locally-owned television station, a division of Londen Media Group. Since its launch in April, 2002, AZ-TV has led the way in classic and contemporary comedy(Reno 911!, Chappelle’s Show, George Lopez, According To Jim, My Wife & Kids, Frasier, Married…With Children, Cheers, The Brady Bunch, The Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy and in 2009, Everybody Hates Chris), regional sports and local talk and public affairs programs, reaching more than 1.8 million households over the air, on cable and on DIRECTV and Dish Network satellite, as well as a global audience online at www.arizonasown.com. KAZT-DT 7.2 launches in 2008 with programming from RTN-The Retro Programming Network.
