NEWS: Schedule Change For R. Nac'l Brazil SW

The shortwave transmiter site NW of Brasilia operated by the national public broadcaster Empresa Brasil de Comunicacao for the Radio Nacional de Amazonia's service has had to make a schedule change in it's SW operating schedule.

EBC's Radio Engineering Manager Manoel Caetano tells me, "Due to technical problems and energy costs, the Radio Nacional de Amazonias service will have reduced opeating hours through at least the end of the year"

11780khz will operate weekdays from 0745UTC to 2000UTC and 6180khz will operate weekdays from 2000 to 0300UTC

On wekends, 11780khz will operate from 0900UTC to 1800UTC while the 6180khz frequency will remain off air on wekends.

This schedule is effective as of today, July 1st

Looks like they are down to just one operational transmitter, as there is no schedule overlap with two frequencies. Those transmitters go back to the 1970s.

I understand that hydroelectric power in Brazil has been affected by low water levels recently, driving up electricity costs.

Other Brazilian shortwave outlets have been missing lately: Two of the three frequencies of Radio Voz Missionaria (9665 and 11750) as well as Radio Nove de Julho (9819). Also not hearing Radio Inconfidencia on 15190, though 6010 is still there. All checked via SDRs in Brazil.

15190 has been on as recently as yesterday, heard it myself.

Voz Missionaria has had problems before... both 9665 and 11750 has been known to drift too in the past

I’m not hearing Inconfidencia on 15190 during checks of various SDRs in Brazil yesterday and today. Faint display on the SDR waterfall but no readable audio.

Checking those same SDRs 9665 has been off for quite a while. I’ve heard 11750 more recently, but it has been off for a number of weeks now. 5940 still going.

Radio Nove de Julho has been missing from 9819 for quite a while, though their 1600 AM outlet is still going strong, as heard on an SDR near São Paulo.

I'm ALMOST a100 percent positive I had 15190 early this wek.

9819 has had a modulation probably since before jesus invented humanity. Or as i call it, 9818 point whatever it is.

9665 years ago once drifted from 9665 in the course of a weak or two up to 9673.

11750, last year, was drifting between 11747 and 11758 over the course of about 30 seconds over and over all night long one time

Eibi lists Radyo Pilipinas on 15190 from 1730 to 2030 UTC in Tagalog, transmitted from Tinang, so be aware of that.
I am not outside to dx till after 2330 and im quite aware of Radyo Pilipnias.. that and Inconfidencia isnt audible till at least 0000 in the summer

after my loggings sunday and monday night, i’m 150 percent positive that inconfidencia on 15190 is on

At a check around 0415 UT July 7: Hearing Radio Inconfidencia on 15190 via the TWR Bonaire SDR. Programming matches their 880 AM frequency which I heard on a SDR near São Paulo. 15190 not heard on Brazilian based SDRs, though overall reception seems degraded on those.

I suspect the 15190 transmitter is directional to the N/NW, often very heard to hear on SDRs to the south, while 6010 does okay in southerly directions.

If you believe short-wave.info both beam at 122 deg azimuth..15190 and 6010 were regulars in Alaska..... so far only 15190 here in Wyoming BUT.. i wasnt here over the winter, so i cant yet say for sure about 6010

15190 was heard OFTEN in alaska, not always that well but i heard it.. its not heard as often here but from time to time, its very good in WY... like it was Monday night

Much more likely to hear La Voz de tu Conciencia from Colombia on 6010, but that operation can be very sporadic, as is sibling Alcaravan Radio on 5910.

I'd heard both 6010's in Alaska.. its easy to differentiate between the brazil 6010 and the colombian 6010.. ne is religious and its very obvious religions sounding. ive heard alcaravan in alaska quite a bit.

Best "latin america" SW log was peru on 4775 with only 1kw, despite CODAR

Not to mention Conciencia is in Spanish and Inconfidencia is in Portuguese.😁

5910 tends to have a “better” signal than 6010 here in Houston, though both are usually poor.

well, 6010 doesnt modulate too well, so it can be had to tell in the ether of noise..... ive had 6010 a few times where i wasnt sure WHO it was because i couldnt decipher the language
