NEWS! SPERO TO LA! WFAN! ARMSTRONG!

This just in from the LA TIMES....LA LAKERS & XTRA SPORTS 570 set to announce that SPERO DEDES (YES NETWORK, former WFAN host) will be the new play-by-play announcer. Dedes will replace JOEL MEYERS.

I spoke with WFAN's new PD ERIC SPITZ yesterday...it could be a few more weeks before they name the new overnight host. Memo to Eric: FYI Need to update your website. They still have Mark Chernoff listed as PROGRAM DIRECTOR.

At post time WFAN has yet to post their on-air schedule for next week...very interesting.

Roll tape tomorrow! KC ARMSTRONG will call-in to HOWARD STERN. See NY POST PAGE SIX (dated 6/30/05) for info on this saga.

Spero went from doing PBP for the XFL's Hitmen in 2000 to the Lakers a short five years later. Nice.

Stern's KC segment was predictable: Hopefully he will listen to whatever help he's getting, he's not a kid anymore and the lifestyle issues had better be history or he's going to find out what real problems are. He's still got a chance for things to work out, so good luck to him. Blowing 300k isn't the answer to anything.
