News Talk Stations

Are there any other stations between Macon and Albany and Valdosta that do news/talk than WMAC and WRPG? There use to be WMWR and WQSA, but why do not more small town ams do this format? I like to listen as I drive through rural GA for work. Thank God for 103.9 as WMAC's signal is horrible when you get below Warner Robins. That's about the worst 50KW am signal I have encountered.

Let's see. There's News/Talk 105.9 WVGA out of the Valdosta area, as well as News/Talk 1590 WALG out of Albany. However, unless you're either in or near Albany, you can't get WALG too well. You might even want to try WGRA-790 in Cairo if you go anywhere near there. Or maybe WWGA-1230 out of Waycross. WTIF-1340 from Tifton carries some talk shows as well, but not a lot. As for why more small-town AM stations don't do the news/talk format, obviously money, or the lack thereof, might have a lot to do with it.

WTIF AM 1340 in Tifton is now 100% news/talk 24 hours a day.
