Clear Channel Hattiesburg hasn't had any local news. Do the Clear Channel cuts mean Jackson will be
doing Biloxi news? I guess the FCC doesn't care if all those Hattiesburg stations use news rip and read
from Jackson. I thought you had to serve your city of license?

The FCC hasn't cared much about commercial radio in years. If they had, we wouldn't have 80-90, we would have an AM Stereo standard that works and we wouldn't have an erector set "Hybrid Digital" method of generating more interference in the AM and FM bands. Did I mention unattended operation? Just be sure you get your regulatory fees in on time, and be sure that "Broadcasting and the Public" pamphlet is in the public file.

all that studying I did on learning how to read the meters has been for naught.

HAH! I failed element 9 the first time around. Had to be signed off by the chief so I could jock until I could take it again. Got the General on the first pass.

Ha! That reminds me of when I attended USM in 76-78. The first Radio-TV-Film course you took was RTF311, Radio Broadcasting, which simply taught you the General License test. There was no test; you automatically passed with an A by showing you passed the FCC test.

By any chance that class was taught by Dr. Robert Cade?
