From RadioDailyNews.com:

WNBC and 1010 WINS introduce a new Shadow Traffic partnership that provides the most up-to-date and comprehensive traffic and transit reports in the region. Beginning today, Monday, Nov. 14, WNBC’s Trish Yodice and 1010 WINS Pete Tauriello co-anchor "Shadow Traffic,” providing reports throughout WNBC’s “Today In New York” on Channel 4 (M-F, 5-7 a.m.) from a newly created and co-branded studio at Shadow Traffic

Shadow Traffic is owned by Viacom, parent company of CBS. 1010 WINS is owned by Infinity Radio, another Viacom subsidiary. Viacom's New York stations (CBS2 and UPN 11) get traffic services from smaller competitor Traffic.com, which I understand previously provided traffic for NBC4.

The only UPN 11 I know of in the whole country is KSTW-TV channel 11 in Seattle. :)

This is interesting 1010 WINS a Infinity Radio station part of Viacom doing business with NBC 4 New York a NBC Univeral owned station. Why wouldn't 1010 WINS team with WCBS-TV instead of WNBC for traffic? Makes no sense.

Well, WCBS-TV seems partnered with WCBS-AM so perhaps Viacom decided that it was a good thing to have another partner for WINS.
______________
