Newscasts on WTNH - now in HD

Weren't they in HD already? OR...was it just an upconverted 4:3 image that kinda/sorta looked like HD?

I just tried to watch WTNH for the 6:00 opening. I could only tolerate it for about 10 seconds:

1. Pretty poor quality for HD.
2. Audio all screwed up.
3. The usual "technical glitches."

Just 4 of the many reasons I prefer WABC. I think I'll pass on News 8 HD. ::)
 
Thanks to Cablevision I still only get the SD downconvert of the station in Fairfield county. But I do get to see and hear the technical glitches! ::)
 
@KMS - Give 8 a break, it is only, what, their first week broadcasting news in HD? I am sure they will solicit listener feedback and improve the HD experience as time goes by.

The technical glitches have been going on for years though, way before any hint of HD. Those were the issues I was refering to.
