NewsChannel 3 Eureka

To put this all in to perspective, Eureka is a tiny TV market. Total population between Humboldt and Del Norte counties = the city of Elk Grove or a little over 150,000.

Yes, and for anyone who REALLY needs to have the news/weather really shouldn't depend on TV anywhere in the CONUS.

That is probably why you can't get that much video on the damage at crescent city at all while there is tons of video's on the damage at Santa Cruz.

Considering that Crescent City was badly damaged by a tsunami in 1964, I wonder why stations in San Francisco or Portland didn't have the foresight to send a crew to Crescent City to cover it now.

It is a small market, but for a few years KAEF 23(ABC), KVIQ 6 (now 17, CBS), and as always KIEM managed to do local news, if they could do it then, why not now? Could it be because KAEF and KVIQ are no longer locally owned?

I bet you that KIEM Channel 3 did major coverage about that tsunami back in 1964.
