"Newsroom culture clash" at CBS News

Gee, whatever could the reason be? ‘Tis a mystery.
Because David Ellison is shocked that CBS News Staff don't like him or Bari Weiss in interfering the editorial independence of the network. Also the other one Why David Ellison decided that Bari Weiss is more powerful than even CBS News Presidents (Jennifer Mitchell President of CBS owned affiliates), Tom Cibrowski (President of CBS News) and likely even current president of CNN Mark Thompson given the situation over the Paramount-WB Merger.

Scott Galloway says he was approached by Bari Weiss for 60 Minutes:

Someone needs to point out that this is a network TV show. Not the amateur hour.

Wait, wasn't The Original Amateur Hour a network TV show? :D
Yes. It started on Dumont in 1948, and eventually aired on all four networks. It also aired on ABC Radio between 1948 and 1952, and was the successor to Major Bowes' Amateur Hour that aired on NBC and later CBS between 1936 and 1945.

If I'm ABC, I have no rights to football on Sundays aside from, possibly, the playoffs and no compelling programming to offer on Sunday evenings. Hiring some of these veteran correspondents and making a competitor to 60 Minutes would sound tempting. I'm sure producing a long-form news program like 60 Minutes is expensive, but betting on CBS not being ready for the new season looks like a better than 50/50 gamble. It's probably a high-risk proposition, but, if it works, it's high reward.
They make more money with America's Funniest Home Videos. The content is literally free, and they don't have to pay for a big production staff, extensive travel, lawyers, etc. And without the controversy, the headaches, the risk of being sued or employees popping-off in meetings telling them that they suck.

It's one of the first network TV shows I can remember but I couldn't tell you what network.

Dumont: 1/18/48-9/25/49
NBC: 10/4/49-9/11-54
ABC: 10/30/55-6/23/57 and 3/7/60-9/26/60
CBS: 5/1/59-10/9/59 and 10/2/60-9/27/70

I only remember its 1960-70 run on CBS.

Sadly, the "amateurs" here include the new bosses at CBS News.

Here is more fallout as more former 60 Minutes staff members come forward over their opinions of Bari Weiss and David Ellison destroying the show and yes its an allegation, Scott Pelley, Cecilia Vega, Sharyn Alfonsi has been saying for time.

I spoke with six former “60 Minutes” staffers, including award-winning correspondents, producers and executives, about the chaos that’s unfolded there under Weiss, a former op-ed columnist and founder of The Free Press who had no broadcast journalism — and scant investigative reporting — experience prior to being given the keys to CBS News.

“We have to acknowledge that ‘60 Minutes’ needed a bit of a facelift, and there were potentially positive ways to improve the program, but it’s the way they have gone about it,” a former “60 Minutes” staffer says. “You don’t give a facelift with a ****ing machete.”

I saw her photo on "Jeopardy". I never thought about what she looked like. She doesn't seem evil in the photo I saw.
She's not evil. She's not a saint. It's laughable the labels being put on her considering who she is and aspects of her lifestyle.

She was selected for a tough job that has high risks and potentially high rewards. To make change, she's breaking some eggs. No matter what she did, someone was going to be unhappy.
