NewsTalk101.1/Charlotte

The calls are W_TK.

Didn't get the second call letter.

I've heard this station a few times.

Are they an LPFM?

Received strongly east of Charlotte, but lost them towards Uptown.

They were broadcasting the Panthers game this past Sunday.

They're on the same freq. as Rock101/WROQ - Greenville/Spartanburg

Thanks

WZTK Burlington. Big 100kw signal serving the Triad and most of the Triangle, too.

The last thing Charlotte needs is a right-wing talker on FM---let WZTK stay in the Triangle and Triad. BTW, the WPZS transmitter is in Mathews, near the hospital. They rent space from a city of Charlotte communications tower....

WZTK is not that[/t] right-wing.

They got Brad Krantz and Britt Whitmire in the mornings, Clark Howard, Allan Handelman in the afternoons, and Allan Colmes in the evenings. And smooth jazz on the weekends. None of those are "rightwing" hours. :)

I suspect a right wing FM talker would do pretty well in Charlotte. WBT-AM is conservative leaning and a consistently top 5 12+ ranked station (not to mention it's been the #1 biller for years running). I don't see an FM talker happening any time soon, tho. Too many good music formats, and too few full market FM signals.
