<font color=3333ff>Do you think they should and would they bring back Energy on the 9's but on a sub-channel, since there will never stop being buzz about it until the format returns to the market?

Just as somebody said, not that long ago. People are always taking about energy here, energy there. Most likely, there well never be another station like energy. If you look at the paterns of dance stations in the U.S. There are only a handful. Unless you see dance music blow up like hip hip did, it won't happen. Granted dance music came very close in 2001-2002, but it hid back into the underground. The only way you could hear dance is if a top 40 station would throw some dance tracks into their playlist.

In my travels around the country, I hear very few rythmic formatted stations. Dayparts, yes. full format. Nope. Of those I hear, some are good, others...well not so good. Because there are so many decent club jocks who can cue/cross fade well, they set a really high standard for a rythmic station to do the same on every segue 24/7. If you don't do it perfectly every time, the listeners hear it and it turns into a big negative impression. That means live staff 24/7. Just not going to happen...even in LA or NYC.

If anything, Newsweb should do a Play Anything Country fomrat. That's a completely wide open genre of music.

Good Call on that!

Working well in Indy...but that is a full market signal.

I think 9 country would have a tough time against WCCQ...but in other areas where 9 country would be stronger...could do well.

Advertisers can understand "country station" better than "variety hits"

I have another idea.

I have another idea..

Energy 92.7/5 as in dance music in Chicago.

If you dont think that dance is needed in Chicago, think again.
