Nexgen Player 101

All-

I have a client that's asking about Nexgen Player 101. I understand from talking to others that it's a solid program. Could a current user or owner fill me in a little before I call Nexgen and talk to them?

I'm curious whether the "Player in a Box" core module is self-contained for basic use. Without adding an additional module, will it create hour templates, 24 playlists and give artist and title separation? The website is a little unclear. Also, will the basic module background record?
Finally, what is the cost for only the core module?

I'd just try to get Nexgen if I were you. I haven't had good luck with Player 101. It's a poor knockoff of their real product, and their support people know it. They try, but they really don't know player 101 that well, and it's really not the same core... There's a lot of things it won't do also. One of the issues we had that really wasn't cool was that it will not send out contact closures. If all you want to do is have some internet radio station and have it play crap out, fine. But, if you want to play real radio, I'd RUN from it.

I'm going to tell the station to forget Player 101. Instead, I'm going to push mAirList, which has become my favorite playout. It needs to be configured, both function and (optional) layout. Once it's running, however, it's a great program. There is another in Beta that I'm playing around with as well..
