Update CW Providence could move to the subchannels of WPRI and the deal will close at the end of the 4th quarter of 2017.

I think The CW Providence will remain on Channel 28 but will broadcast from WPRI's transmitter.

WLWC will pull the plug on October 1, and will be be channel sharing with WPXQ, the ION station. WLWC will no longer be a CW affiliate:

WPRI announced this Monday they will carry CW Providence on WNAC Fox Providence 64.2 with MyRiTV moving to 12.2 , Bounce moves to 12.3. No word on Laff and Get-TV's new sub channels.
