Nexstar ready to hook up with TEGNA?

From what I've seen, yes, the TEGNA stations reverted to the old copyrights. Again, it is an easy adjustment.
9News (KUSA/KTVD) has done so. But I did see one weird copyright notice on an afternoon newscast today: "© 2026 KUSA, Denver, Colorado". Since the KTVD/KUSA legal ID is always supered at the top of the hour, I don't think that was a way of slipping in the ID.

i can confirm WFAA isn't doing the "A TEGNA Company" in their copyrights at the end of the Newscast or even having the "Nexstar" copyright thing either, they just did "©2026 WFAA | Dallas, Texas"

Here is more this time Nexstar stations like WCMH, KXAN are going to have to use News Nation going forward and not the NBC News Service for local news segments.

*Note the Tegna stations like KING, KARE, KUSA and WCNC have a TRO and may continue to use NBC News Channel for now.

Now with the TRO in place, Nexstar has backed off the orders to the Tegna station.

Nexstar told the NBC affiliates that they would instead use News Nation moving forward. Nexstar had already nixed the NBC News Channel contract for their stations prior to the merger.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz has written a letter to FCC Chairman Carr questioning the Nexstar Tegna merger:

Cruz was also the one who required a full commission vote on the Audacy bankruptcy in 2024.

Lets hope that this deal falls apart. Perry Sook and company rushed this deal and hopefully are now facing even more consequences for their actions. Nexstar is a truly despicable company and I hope they fail on their face.

Wouldn't that be nice and then they have to stop Newsnation and return it back to WGN. I know it's never going to happen but Newsnation could be discontinued because they lost to much money when their deal falls apart.

Couldn't WOTV carry WZZM's main ABC channel 13.1 on a subchannel to cover the south side of the market?

Could happen, that was a plan 35 years ago when WZZM's then owner Northstar but didn't have the cash to finalized the deal to buy channel 41 which I posted early in this topic.
