Nexstar to move CW affiliations in Charlotte, Erie and Elmira in September 2025

WETM 18.2 will pick up the CW for the Elmira - Corning tv market from WENY DT-3. The moves impacting Erie and Elmira involve CW Plus stations. Technically in Charlotte WJZY and WMYT channel share but the new CW affiliate will map to 55.1 like it does as a my net station

Will other Nexstar markets see CW affiliation switches onto their stations and/or subchannels in the future?

Specifically wondering about Central Illinois.

Particularly if we might see a CW-My swap between Sinclair LMAed WBUI-23.1 Decatur, IL (CW since 2006) and Nexstar-owned WCIX-49.1 Springfield, IL (which also airs on 3.2 in Champaign. With My (whatever is left of it) going to WBUI and CW heading to WCIX.

And in Peoria, the CW+100 feed moving off Gray's WEEK-25.3 and onto an existing or new subchannel of Nexstar-owned WMBD-31

WMYT has removed their website wmyt12.com from their on-screen logo bug.

I was surprised that Nexstar didn't take The CW in those markets from Sinclair which they did in West Michigan subchannel WWMT DT2 to WOTV DT2 in Jan. 1, 2024.

I wonder when they'll move CW to WCTX/59 in New Haven, Connecticut. They're owned by NexStar and have been running the My Netwirk block 11:35PM-1:35AM since March 2020 when they launched prinetime news from sister station WTNH/8. CW has been on WCCT/20 since the network launched in 06. WCCT is owned by Tegna.

Tegna's group CW deal expires August 31, 2026. So there's another year to run. That said, if Nexstar buys Tegna, all bets are off on what stays and what goes.
