Nexstar VS. Adams Cable and Service Electric

Well, Nexstar Broadcasting and Adams & Service Electric have come to an agreement (not really surprising) at the last minute. Does anyone know who gave in? Did Adams and Service Electric decided to pay Nexstar (and if so, how much) or did Nexstar cave in and decided not push for money?

I am putting money on the first, but don't know...

Does anyone else have any info. besides what they (Nexstar) has said on their site and on TV?

Also noticed that their (Nexstar: NXST) stock skyrocketed to almost 5.50 yesterday around 12:30PM...could this have been the reason? I'v been watching it, and the stock has been extremely low (in the low 4's) for some time now, until now.

I'm sure there's a confidentiality agreement in there somewhere. I'm also sure neither side got everything it wanted, but it was enough for both to save face.

From what Beale's Bites reported yesterday, it sounds like Adams caved in, but there was a compromise between Service Electric and Nexstar.

I'm loving it. A year or so ago when DirecTV and Dish Network were asked to pay carriage fees, the local cable companies had a big laugh pointing out "free locals" as an advantage over Sat programming. LOL

Can ya tell I'm not a big fan of cable companies? Well, except in the case of internet access--which is still way over-priced.<P ID="signature">______________
