Nexstar's 17 Fox affiliates will stay until 2019

Well, if Nexstar's contract with Fox runs out in 2019, then my prediction is that in Honolulu, Hawaii...

KHON could lose it's Fox affiliation to KFVE, and the MyNetworkTV affiliation could shift over from KFVE to KHON, or KHON could switch it's affiliation back to NBC, with KHNL becoming a Fox affiliate once again, resulting in a reversal of the 1996 affiliation switch in Honolulu, HI.

My other predictions are....

In Rockford, Illinois....

WQRF could lose it's Fox affiliation to WTVO-DT2, and the MyNetworkTV affiliation could shift over from WTVO-DT2 to WQRF, or WQRF could become an Independent station for the first time since 1989, and WTVO-DT2 could become a Fox affiliate with MyNetworkTV as it's secondary affiliation.

In Davenport, Iowa....

KLJB could lose it's Fox affiliation to WQAD-DT3, and the MyNetworkTV affiliation could shift over from WQAD-DT3 to KLJB, or KLJB could become an Independent station for the first time since 1990, and WQAD-DT3 could become a Fox affiliate with MyNetworkTV as it's secondary affiliation.

In Monroe, Louisiana....

KARD could lose it's Fox affiliation to KMCT, and the MyNetworkTV affiliation could shift over from KMCT to KARD, or KARD could switch it's affiliation back to ABC, with KNOE-DT2 assuming the Fox affiliation.

In Tyler/Longview, Texas

KFXK could lose it's Fox affiliation to KYTX, and the CBS affiliation could shift over from KYTX back to KFXK, resulting in a reversal of the 1991 affiliation switch in Tyler/Longview, Texas.

In Odessa, Texas

KPEJ could lose it's Fox affiliation to KOSA-DT2, and the MyNetworkTV affiliation could shift over from KOSA-DT2 to KPEJ, or KPEJ could become an Independent station for the first time since 1990, and KOSA-DT2 could become a Fox affiliate with MyNetworkTV as it's secondary affiliation.

In the Virginia Hampton Roads...

WVBT could lose it's Fox affiliation to WSKY, and the Independent status could shift from WSKY to WVBT, or WVBT could swap affiliations with WTVZ, making WVBT a MyNetworkTV affiliate, with WTVZ becoming a Fox affiliate for the first time since 1998.

In Roanoke, Virginia....

WFXR could lose it's Fox affiliation to WDBJ-DT2, and the MyNetworkTV affiliation could shift from WDBJ-DT2 to WFXR, or WFXR could become an Independent station for the first time since 1990, and WDBJ-DT2 could become a Fox affiliate with MyNetworkTV as it's secondary affiliation.

and that's all I predicted.
 
Well the Nexstar/Tegna deal was at play here. I think some of this is really when Tegna merges with Nexstar the real plan here was to get the Tegna Fox Affiliates to go on the same page as Nexstar contract deals once a deal has been approved by the FCC and the DOJ.
 
Given how Raycom runs KGMB/KFVE/KHNL, this one we can expect to see. KHON had a great relationship with NBC from its sign on in 1952 until the switch to Fox in 1996, and wth Nexstar having a good relationship with NBC they'll want the Peacock back at the Studios across the street from Ala Moana Center somewhere down the line. Don't see them taking MyNetwork or moving the CW to the main channel.
