NEXUS NBE250 blowing fuses

We acquired a Nexus NBE250 which just started blowing a fuse located prominently inside the chasis. The result disables the power adjustment setting while the forward and reverse power display registers zero watts each way. This unit is an orphan as noted in a 12 year old radio discussion thread I discovered after the unit was donated. It is archived at:

There is no circuit diagram in the thin users manual. The manufacturer's email address provided to the fcc is defunct. I am not an engineer, but I have some rudimentary knowledge of radio electronics. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to proceed in identifying the source of the problem?

Prior to our acquiring this unit, it was broadcasting the signal of KFSC-LP, 94.1 MHz, by Friends of Radio Grito in Visalia, CA. It went off the air after failing to renew its license due to an inexcusable lapse in its internal communication chain. It was an otherwise viable station.
