NFL on CBS…on KTXA/21

Preseason NFL is much more of a catch all than the regular season when it comes to broadcast rights.
you got to remember, Paramount Skydance owns KTXA & KTVT so therefore any CBS programing preempted on KTVT airs on KTXA, it's been that way for a while now, it doesn't matter if it's sports or CBS primetime, if a big local news event (like a major breaking news story or severe weather outbreak) or a Dallas Cowboys preseason game preempts programming, it's gonna air on KTXA anyway.
Several other CBS affiliates around the country are airing preseason games of local interest and moving the CBS game to another channel, including WCBS-TV which has the Jets preseason game and is moving the CBS game to sibling WLNY.
Of the 25 stations on the Cowboys preseason network only KTVT is CBS.
