NFL on Fox - Bad Decision

So I was watching the end of the Tennessee vs Green Bay game on Fox. Just as Rob Bironas was about to kick a potential game winning field goal in overtime, Fox decided to cut away from the game, and show 3 minutes of commercials before going over to the Giants game. Seriously, they couldn't wait 10 seconds to show the field goal?

The switchover takes place at a fixed time.

Yeah, it's NFL tv rules. CBS would have done the same thing too. It's far from the first time and it won't be the last. The worst thing is that even if you have Sunday Ticket, you wouldn't have been able to see the end.

The entire Packers-Titans game, including overtime, was shown on Sunday Ticket in HD. I was watching it at my local bar and saw the whole game.

Actually, it looks like ansky lives *inside* a certain team's area, hence the cutaway.

Seattle got cut off, too. In fact, so did Kenny Albert. He was in mid-sentence announcing the cutaway as things faded to black.

In a situation like this, the NFL needs to allow CBS/FOX to hold the audience long enough to show the potentially deciding play of an early game. Unless a timeout is called, if the teams are ready to play the switchout should be delayed so fans can see a result. After that one play, switch accordingly.

But then, we are talking about the "No Fun League."

We got the cutaway in Hartford/New Haven, as we were about to get the Dallas vs NY Giants game. The funny part? Despite the Giants being a "local" team, we are NOT a secondary Giants market.

Unless you were in one of the markets of the teams playing the early game that ran late, Fox was contractually obligated to cut away to the second game of the doubleheader. Blame the NFL...that's just the way it works.

..and for a league that supposedly abhors gambling..to decide a game on a coin flip..is repulsive.

If a team scores on the opening drive, the opponent should have a set of downs to tie or go ahead.
