NFL on TV Question

What Happened to the Thursday-Saturday Game Package I've Been hearing about?

I've heard that USA, OLN, and TBS were the top runners for the new package

But that was about a month ago.

Did it did just died off?

Replace OLN with ESPN and TBS with TNT and you'll be right on.

I doubt the NFL will announce the Thursday/Saturday TV package until around or just after the Super Bowl.

Comcast(OLN) is the frontrunner for the 8-game package/4 week deal.
Scratch both TBS and TNT - Turner networks officially pulled out
in early December. Add Fox, NBC U Cable and ESPN. NFL is still talking to
all the interested parties. Deal should be done soon.

Hi everyone:

And even then, I doubt they'll even start scheduling games for Thursday Nights on a weekly basis until it's approved by the NFLPA. You know THEY will have a say in the matter. Playing on Thanksgiving Day after having just played a few days earlier is a big enough challenge.

I also highly doubt the NFL will even bother with Friday Nights IMO as they reserve that for High Schools.

One final note, I wouldn't be very surprised that, despite having divorced themselves from CBS, UPN jumps into the fray. God knows UPN could use a winning night that has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with WRESTLING.

Just a few thoughts :)

Cheers for now :)
