Sorry to break up all of the speculation on 1059& WJRR, but why is this going on?????

Is it because 740 AM left????

Somebody fill me in, because I am a "real music weekend fan"......

Interesting move by C.C. to snag Football from CBS...which aired games on WOCL...too bad CBS didn't put the games on 102JAMZ. ::)

The Bucs were on 740...so we're the playoffs for the previous few years...

WOCL only had the Dolphins...

C.C of Orlando has the rights to Westwood one's NFL coverage for Orlando so WTKS is a good move.
I would like to see a FM station keep it going next year, Living in South Brevard you could not hear
the Monday night coverage since WMEL dropped it several years ago.

as a longtime fan of "real music weekends" on TKS whenever I've been in the Orlando area, I really don't like what CC Orlando is doing by putting the NFL on there.

BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to listen to Sunday Night Vinyl last night, but football was on..

I even called WTKS, and the guy that answered the phone was pissed off about this...

BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

why are you booing? it seems that anything to shut anyone up on tks is good for you! and if youre a live and local junky, like most "rrg's" (retro radio guys, i just made that up), then you should be all over this! whats more live and local than football...

i used to love the real music - cutting edge - weekends on Real Radio when i lived in orlando. I remember dan stone, erik dennison, melissa foxx, bledsoe, kevin walsh......fluffy the gay DJ.

didn't bledsoe host a sports talk or pro wrestling show at one point on 540? I can't remember his real name.....he may have been a writer for the sentinel? brian fritz???

The Bucs on an FM station in Orlando has been loooong overdue. I hated that I couldn't pull in WFUS from Cocoa Beach and I had to listen to the crap AM feed on 740. Every NFL team should be on FM in it's home and neighboring markets, the play by play sounds so much better!! I could never figure out why the former O-Rock played Dolphins games when the Orlando area has been CLEARLY a Bucs market since they went from Creamsicle Orange to Pewter and Red.

Sorry Real Music listeners but as much Orlando doesn't give a rats a-- about sports compared to it's western counterparts, some injection of sports on local radio is needed.

NFL instead of Real Music weekends? Looks like another preset bites the dust. This is the sound of me inching closer and closer to satellite radio...cha-ching. I'd rather PAY for something I can enjoy than get garbage for FREE.

BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

GIVE ME ADAM ANT, THE CURE, BOB GELDOF & THE BOOMTOWN RATS, THE B-52's, THE POLICE , MISSING PERSONS, DEPECHE MODE, DEVO, THE DAMNED, THE CLASH!!!!!!!!

PUT FOOTBALL ON 540!!!!!!

Consider yourself lucky that "classic alternative" has lasted as long as it has on 104.1. Not many markets have it... even if it's just on weekends. Face it... 104.1 will move to where the money is... they have too. Real Music Weekends is a throwaway. If they can make some sales or sell the time to the Bucs or some other team by carrying their broadcasts, they will. As for DJs... they cost money. And we all know a computer will spin whatever the format is all weekend for free.

I've been told 540 is not an option. You wanna hear something funny and at the same time sad? UCF may end up back on 740... IN ENGLISH. How these guys can't get CBS or Cox for find a place for them I don't know. It's the weekend and sports broadcasters WILL PAY for the time. I'll say this ONE MORE TIME... Cox Radio is missing out on prime opportunities for 96.5 WHTQ and maybe even 580 WDBO.

please,

sports ratings are a dog. the magic is virtually the lowest rated thing DBO has on it's air

You just totally missed my point. If what you say is true, then why doesn't WDBO drop the Magic? They sure are keeping WDBO near the bottom of the ratings huh? Those nightly games (and way more than a football team) are ruining them. Listen, I never said sports play by play ratings don't suck. Usually they do. But teams will pay you for the time... and 3-4 hours on a weekend is not gonna have any effect on a stations total ratings. WDBO is actually a good example (if you say the evenings are low rated due to the Magic) of a station that does well overall while STILL carrying play by play at night. Why is it people keep going back to ratings and looking at the overall and 12+ numbers? That's not how they're sold. We all know it's about money... and whether you believe it or not, getting on board with a local up and coming organization (UCF) can not only help you get some good promotion, but make some money doing it. Again, I understand sometimes when a full time sports station moves on to something else... but running one team or something like football for a few hours on the weekend isn't gonna kill ya.

CC Orlando, you might as well reimage WTKS to be FM Talk and Sports like it used to be right after the WWNZ to WTKS migration... You could even find The Coach and lure him back with a prime time sports talk slot after Phillips... (ha) then air all the games you want weekends and weeknights without giving the music fans, who otherwise wouldn't listen, any "false expectations" of what they would be hearing, as what happened this past weekend...

You blew up the old WTKS lineup to make 540/740 try to "shine" and that clearly failed book after book, might as well reconsolidate it back to an FM dial position where people might stomach such a hybrid...

Ah crap, but that means Sileo would get moved to an FM signal... ugh.

Oh well.

Just give us something LIVE in the evenings instead a rerun of the obsenely OVERRATED Monsters.

The evenings???????

Hell, let's get rid of that crap that is on in the MORNINGS!!!!!!

My niece could do a better show, AND SHE IS ONLY 7!!!!!!!!!!

You see, if you get rid of that garbage that is on in the mornings (Dirty Jim, Drunky, etc..), then the problems with the evenings will be solved, because WTKS will have to put something new on..

However, staying on the topic of NFL on WTKS, what is up with that crappy sports talk show that comes on Sunday afternoons...It has those two high school kids that talk at the same time from the Philips file hosting it (I might be wrong on that, it is hard to tell), but boy, man, IT SUCKS ASS!!!!!!!

BOOOOOOO!!!! To the NFL on WTKS..

;D
