NHL frozen out of ESPN Classic

Unless I've missed it, ESPN Classic has not shown one minute of classic or nonclassic NHL footage since the 2003-04 season, even though the lockout is a thing of the past.

Is this a spite move by the folks in Bristol, since ESPN has parted ways with the NHL?

Guess I'll wait and see if OLN will show highlights from the 1964 Stanley Cup Finals (Maple Leafs over Red Wings). (rolls eyes)

We have a winner! And in ESPN we have a "Whiner".

ESPNABCDisney trashed the 2004 Cup final, kicking Tampa Bay to the curb....again...and I don't think the league forgot that. No, it wasnt a breaking point, but look here.

The NHL went with Comcast/OLN, in part because the men there just talk hockey. No smarm, no cheap shots. And yes, it made financial sense, as Comcast plans their own nationwide sports network in the near future. Disney is also parting with the "Mighty Ducks", soon to be known as the "Ducks".

Too bad Nascar is about to get a heaping helping dose of Bristol...

No doubt they'll also get a new logo along with it, since the "Mighty Ducks" logo originated with the Disney film of the same name.

Leave it to Disney to burn bridges with the NHL.
