NHL on FM

Do any NHL teams broadcast their games on FM stations? I would guess that some of the popular teams in Canada might put a little more emphasis on their broadcasts than teams in the U.S. (leading me to believe that some might have FM affiliates), but I don't know for sure. In my opinion, I don't think hockey is suited for radio at all, but that's a whole other topic.

The Phoenix Coyotes are on an AM/FM simulcast - KDKB 93.3 and KDUS 1060.

The Pens are on

WWSW- an FM station in Pittsburgh.

It used to be during the glory days of the franchise in the early nineties WDVE- the longtime rocker in Pittsburgh- would air a Penguins talk show from 9-10 a.m. every Saturday.

The Nashville Predators are on WGFX-FM 104.5 The Zone here in Nashville. The Preds previous flagship was WWTN - 99.7 FM.

What Shooterz didn't tell you is that the Predators are somewhere around 3rd or 4th on WGFX's priority list. In cases of conflict with Vanderbilt or NASCAR, the games go to one of the cities weakest nighttime AM's: WNSR-560<P ID="signature">______________

Actually Bob, Predators are second to Vanderbilt, on the priority list, only because the Vanderbilt Contract was signed before the Predators contract. But lets not let facts get in the way of a good jab at the competition.

The Blue Jackets (do they count as an NHL team? kidding) are on an AM/FM simulcast in Columbus. Oddly enough, to compliment the sports station on AM, the CBJ chose WWCD, an alternative station on FM.

I don't know if they've always been on K-FOX, but I believe the Sharks have been on an FM station for their entire history in the market.

Re: The Always FM Sharks

The Sharks were not always on FM. I believe they were either on KFRC 610 or KNEW 910 before switching over to Kara...I'm sure there is somewhere you can double check on this...

It really hurts hockey in the Bay Area because both stations can not be picked up in the majority of San Francisco, if not all...

sabres:

>sabres were on whtt-104.1 prior to the lock out.
(citadel)

Now, on an am sports 550(entercomm), and when i say
"sports" that is by definition only..this "sports55"
is a JOKE. Prime Example: After , yet another sabres
victory, the post game, was arguing what chant was
better to use.."go sabres go/or/let's go buffalo"
no joke,
but sports55.is a joke.

it was awesome to have on FM, quick check on the game;
or, if your work some where and actually are allowed to have
the game on, you want a clear signal, not some crackly am buzz..

what is really weird, it is the same broadcast as what is on tv..
soo, if u cant be at the arena, watch it on tv, yea, i guess you
can tune it in on the radio..

The Sharks have been on KFOX about 5 years now, and previously aired on a now-defunct FM station, KARA. In their early years, however, they aired on San Francisco's KFRC-AM.
