NICE ARTICLE ABOUT WENT-AM

There was a very nice article in the Sunday Gazette about WENT-AM 1340, Gloversville-Johnstown. The station which is celebrating 65 years still does things the old fashion way. Local live personalities, local news, play by play high school sports. In all of this time, the station has had only 4 sets of owners. I cannot forward this article because the Gazette is a pay site. I you can get your hands on the article, its a good one.

Yes WENT is a good station indeed! (One of the few left)

EDIT:

I have tried everything to get to the article but i cant figure it out (hehehehehe)

What a shame the Gazette doesn't share articles online for free or allow a "day pass" good for one day of a free preview. I'd love to read this article but I'm not going to pay a few dollars for an online copy! I'm sure finding a print version would be just as difficult now. Too bad really. Maybe WENT will get permission to post it to their website!

WENT is a nice place. They do it the way radio should be. They do it local, and they cultivate business and talent. Another station that does the same (ironically also 1340 AM) is WIRY in Plattsburgh. About the 2 best truly local stations in the State.

The Schenectady Gazette is a piece of work for more reasons than I will go into on the board. Lets just say, they aint the New York Times, but the folks on Maxon Road seem to think otherwise.
