"Max"-100.5 (WWMX) Norfolk, VA
"The Point"-94.9 (WPTE) Virginia Beach, VA
and "Rejoice"-100.9 (WFMI) Southern Shores, NC, blasting in as I turned off the radio to got to sleep.
Also, Wednesday morning around 7:30am, I relogged:
"Joy-102.5" (WOLC) from Princess Anne, MD and
WSCL-89.5 Salisbury, MD (public radio).

Check out more of my DX on my website: hometown.aol.com/dx1ng
On the SW Connecticut shore where I lived years ago, these coastal trop openings were fairly frequent, but here about 55 miles inland, they only happen once in a while.

Good DX to all!

I got mostly all those stations in Newburgh as well last night. 94.9 "The Point" was coming in crystal clear on a cheap clock radio.

Tuesday night was again good tropo night also.

The last few days (7/19, 7/24, 7/25, 7/26) have been good for tropo. Also, today I picked up some E-Skip around 3:30 PM. I am in Bloomfield, New Jersey, by the way.

Here are my tropo catches (nothing really special, and I might be leaving some out, since I am relying on memory). Some were even coming in like locals:

WHYY 90.9
WOSR 91.7
WLNG 92.1
WXTU 92.5
WWYZ 92.5
WEHM 92.9
WMMR 93.3
WZMX 93.7
WPST 94.5
WKSS 95.7
WBEN 95.7
WLVG 96.1
WCTO 96.1
WRDW 96.5
WTIC 96.5
WEHN 96.9
WFPG 96.9
WIXM 97.3
WCTK 98.1
WBZB 98.5
WPLR 99.1
WZBZ 99.3
WKCI 101.3
WBEA 101.7
WBAZ 102.5
WDRC 102.9
WEEI 103.7
WAEB 104.1
WSJO 104.9
WXXP 105.3
WCHR 105.7 (i don't count this one, because I always get at least a faint signal, but it came in strong)
WBLI 106.1 (I don't count this one either, because I always get at least a faint signal, but it came in strong)
WBBO 106.5
WKDN 106.9
WPUR 107.3
WWRX 107.7

E-SKIP:

R&B on 92.9
Oldies on 93.3 (KITE in Texas?)
Rap on 95.7
Commericals on 107.3 (Could be WPLA in FL - I have logged that station before)

Great catches here in Virginia Beach today (7/26) at 5:30 in the afternoon. Getting many central and western Kansas stations. One station is almost 1,400 miles away. Is there an easy way to figure distances from stationsantennas to my home??? Here's what I captured on the PC... http://www.VARTV.com/media/dxing_2007_07_26.wma...

Tropo Wednesday night even stronger than Tuesday here in Hudson Valley.

New logs:

10:15pm - WOCQ-103.9 Berlin, MD "OC-104" hip-hop. 246 mi.
10:51pm - WFMZ-104.9 Hertford, NC "Classic Hits 104.9" 416 mi.
11:20pm - WOEL-89.9 Elkton, MD religious, verified through web-site feed (which was 15 seconds delayed). 183 mi.
11:31pm - WFOS-88.7 Chesapeake, VA actually heard through LOCAL WRHV-88.7, with antenna positioned just right. Verified through web-site feed (7 second delayed). 372 mi.
11:53pm - WESR-103.3 Onley-Orancock, VA "103 - The Shore", with 4 back-to-back commercials followed by ID. 296 mi.
12:03am - WNSB-91.1 Norfolk, VA, Norfolk State University, 370 mi.
12:05am - WRVS-89.9 Elizabeth City, NC, Elizabeth City State University, 399 mi.
12:17am - WJKS-101.7 Canton, NJ, "Kiss 101.7" barely through digital hash from local WPDH-101.5, 179 mi.
12:26am - WXTG-102.1 Virginia Beach, VA "The Game" with Fox Sports Radio. 367 mi.

All evening "Dixie-105.7" blasted in on 105.7 with country from Columbia, NC (426 mi), and also from Columbia "The Shark" -102.5 heard much of the time with "Killer Oldies". I also noted "The Wave" WVBW-92.9 (Suffolk, VA) overriding almost-local WBPM-92.9 on a cheap boom-box portable for a call letter - format change. WBPM is less than 17 miles away with 6000 watts.

Thursday evening I added one more log via e-skip:

KZPS-92.5 Dallas, TX "Lonestar 92.5" with a country/rock hybrid format, nice signal at 5:49pm for Texas #28. 1414 mi.

I guess I missed most of a decent opening while at work. While driving home several minutes earlier, I did hear American Family Radio on 92.5 mentioning Mississippi, so it may have been WQST-Forest, MS.

Good DX to all.

Chris from Poughkeepsie

All the Hartford, CT FM and NYC FM along with WALK and WBLI from Long Island coming loud and crystal clear here in Newburgh. WRRB 96.9 in Poughkeepsie being killed by HOT 97.1 in NYC. Also WALK 97.5 is killing out the two locals here at 97.3 and 97.7.

These past three nights Tropo has been really strong here..haven't had that in quite some time.

If you know the geographic coordinates of your home...

http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/bickel/distance.html

You can use
http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/amq.html (AM)
http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/fmq.html (FM)
http://www.fcc.gov/mb/video/tvq.html (TV)
to get the coordinates of the distant stations.
(or my website http://www.w9wi.com for FM and TV - I don't do AM)
