Was quite a weekend in the midwest!
By sunday night i heard a total of 91 new fm's from as far as 180 miles :0

From Coldwater, MI I heard 5 new stations this weekend from 280-300 miles away..

Saturday:
103.5- CIDC Orangeville, ON- 'Z 103-5' with club remote and 416 area code- 280 miles NEW #1363
93.3- WWSE Jamestown, NY- 'SE 93.3' with Oldies program- 293 miles NEW #1364
98.7- CBCB Owen Sound, ON- CBC Radio 1 with blues program- 282 miles NEW #1365

Sunday:
105.3- WJLT Evansville, IN- 'Super Hits 105.3' with Dick Bartley- 301 miles NEW #1366
104.1- WIKY Evansville, IN- Delilah confirmed via webstream- 306 miles NEW #1367

This was an intense opening that even put some of our summer openings to shame. Even on my car stereo most of my semi-locals were rendered useless by stronger, more distant stations. The highlight was hearing London's 99.3 full quieting with NO sign of my 25 mile distant WBET.

Some really impressive catches had by all last weekend! Given the strength with which I was pulling in Lansing signals from the Chicago area, I have no doubt that even longer catches would have been possible were it not for all of the strong local signals in my area. But I was hearing lots of signals that I'd never heard before in my area - and using just a barefoot G8.

These are amazing catches! I'm really impressed that you pulled in Z103.5 because their signal is not one of the better ones in the Greater Toronto Area. They are one of the first I lose when driving down the QEW toward Niagara or down the 401 toward London. Congrats on those!

The FM DX seemed to either moved to or spread to the East Coast. I just heard some stations from DE/Southern NJ (WZXL only)/Southeast MD area here in northern VA. This included WOSC 95.9 Bethany Beach, DE, over a local 95.9 translator in my area.

CIDC's transmitter is north and west of GTA. The CN Tower stations are 307 miles from my location while CIDC is 280. To put that in perspective to the Greater Toronto Area, they are over 40 miles from the center of the city. I knew they were a suburban station. I had no idea they were THAT suburban.

Having said that, I knew CIDC was closer than the rest of the Toronto stations. I've tried several times for them, but always got Detroit's WMUZ instead. Most Ontario DX openings also favor Detroit and even then there seems to be a Great Wall of Canada from Wingham to London and Kitchener that just does not budge. That all changed this weekend.
