NICE PIECE ON DFW WEATHERMAN WARREN CULBERTSON

WOW! I am SO geeked to know he's still with us!

I grew up watching Warren on KRLD....he used to crack me up when he'd explain to all us kids that the state boundaries we saw on the radar picture really weren't there....he just drew them in so's we'd know where Texas was!

Long live the Cub-Man!!

I remember watching him for years when I was kid. He and Walter Evans always did the noon show on Channel 4. (Evans still lives in Plano)
Warren always seemed like a solid meteorologist who wasn't nearly as polished on the air as other "TV" people. I like that. It was the same endearing quality that caused me to like Harold Taft and Channel 8's Jack Van Roy (who passed away fairly recently as I recall)

I think Ron Jackson was hired to replace Culbertson.

Thanks for sharing this one, it was great to read about him.

I'm glad to hear he's still with us, although
I'm somehow reminded of the conflict in
my house over which weathercaster to
watch (I lived in Plano from 1976 to '79):
my mom liked Warren, my dad liked Harold
Taft, and I liked Troy Dungan. My parents
usually ended up watching Warren, while
I'd retreat to my room for Troy and the rest
of the News 8 team (including the great
Verne Lundquist).
