Nice profile about Heidi May on PSR

It's great to learn about Heidi's career. I've admired her for years. I didn't know she was going through the breast-cancer thing. I wish you all the best, Heidi. Seattle radio needs to take better care of its own. Consider yourself hugged.

A couple of years ago she said on air that she has Crohn's Disease also.

I wish this board and members would share more stories of local personalities, for those that don't have all the history of Seattle radio. Great interview, thanks for sharing!
Way to go Heidi May.

Heidi is a great gal...when I worked at KJR-FM, she was always so nice, helpful and a great person to work with....in this biz that is so nice to have people like Heidi cross our paths..... She's survived all the changes at 95.7FM....not many of us can make that claim!!! She's a pro, glad I had the chance to work with her

i first heard heidi on KVI, circa late 70's. liked her on air talent, and took note of her name. although i havent listened to much oldies stations on a regular basis, i would occasionally hear her through the years and always thought, "good to hear heidi again, and glad shes still with it, in this market".

bet shes glad she didnt stay at country KJUN. in the 90's, she missed out on the ownership changes, late/no paychecks, infighting and soap opera atmosphere of incompetent ownership. where are they today??? ethnic programming?

sometimes the posters on this board resemble a motley bunch of truckers at a truck stop, who cant even agree with the time on the clock, on the wall. yet, one thing we all can agree on is this: heidi may is a great on air talent, and class act in this proffession.

That's pretty impressive given that she graduated from Ron Bailie in 1984.

Once you get past the "Jock Shot" title (on first read it always sounds like coverage of a fatality) ... you'll find an interesting profile about KJR-FM's Heidi May:

Thanks for posting this, it's a story that is very well written. Not only good to read she is maintaining such positive outlook, but to read in her blog on the KJR-FM website that she is training for the 3 Day for The Cure.

edit: oops, meant mid 80's for listening to heidi on KVI, duh, KVI switch to oldies in 84. my fingers typing on the key board outran my brain for accuracy........
