Nice Radio Hosts

Do you remember any radio hosts (either local, national, or international) you had always thought were very nice?

I had always thought Kim Komando of "The Kim Komando Show" and Joseph Pinto of "The Joey Reynolds Show" (its title was based on his nickname or pseudonym) were very nice in their radio broadcasts.

Bernard Meltzer. "Charlotte, two t-shirts!"

and Joseph Pinto of "The Joey Reynolds Show" (its title was based on his nickname or pseudonym)

It's title was based on the air name he used his whole career...lol. Why would you invoke his actual name as if that's how he would be known? Odd.

I always thought Bruce Williams came off as awfully nice.

I agree that Bruce Williams treated his audience and callers with kindness.

Michael Jackson reminds me of a genteel type host. JP McCarthy and Kevin Joyce in Detroit were always cordial.

I used to listen to Joey Reynolds when he was doing overnights on WOR and do miss his show.

Going back a few years, John Otto on WGR Buffalo seemed to be a nice guy, as was Larry Glick on WBZ Boston. Of course I just know them from their on-air persona and know nothing of what they were like off the air.

I used to think Leo Laporte of "Leo Laporte the Tech Guy" was usually as nice as he usually sounded on that program before hearing his frequent use of expletives during some of its breaks through a live video stream (for example, he had used one against all of the users of the "chat room" for the program before laughing about it).

First name that came to mind was indeed Bruce Williams.

Here in Philadelphia, one of my favorites was Bernie Herman. He was called "the Gentleman of Broadcasting." Compelling yet conversational 99% of the time. As for the 1%-- when he got mad, whoa! I miss his show-- and that kind of Talk Radio-- very much. Other great Philadelphia "nice guy" hosts were the late Austin Culmer, and financial advisor Harry S. Gross (who recently passed away). All three worked at various times on both WCAU and WWDB.

Me thinks you are too sensitive. Leo IS a nice guy and offers so much free stuff for his legion of fans. I have learned more from his TWIT network than anywhere else. He is also a self made success and provides employment to a lot of tech people.
