Nice Tropo Tuesday and Wendesday

Hi

Some nice tropo Tuesday night (9/18) brought several new FM signals to the Hudson Valley, including Canadians CIDC-103.5 (Z 103 dot 5) Orangeville, ON, (343 miles)and CBCL-93.5 (CBC London, ON)(390 miles). Also, WKCY-104.3 Harrisonburg, VA (362 miles), low power "A's", including WJQZ-103.5 Wellsville, NY 1750 watts, 214 miles; WNGZ-104.9 Montour Falls, NY 1000 watts, 158 miles. AND, WMVX-106.5 Cleveland, Ohio (406 miles) for a new state, #36 since May 2003.

Wednesday morning (9/19), two more low power A's, WZKZ-101.9 Alfred, NY, 1000 watts, 205 miles; and WALY-103.9 Bellwood, PA, 380 watts at 252 miles, with a very nice signal considering distance, rugged terrain, and low power.

Wednesday evening around 8:30, CIDC is back better than the night before, and "K-Lite FM" CKHL-102.9 Hamilton, ON is in good, so looks like some more nice conditions.

Best of DX to all.

101.3 could be WKCG Augusta, ME or WWDE Norfolk, VA
106.5 was probably CBHM Middleton, NS
107.7 would be WBQI Bar Harbor, ME

Conditions were unbelievable from here in MA to NS, NB, PEI, and even.... NF last night. I heard 2 stations from there, 96.3 CIOZ and 90.3 CBNM.

Nick... The 106.5 CBC station is CBHM Middleton, NS, 93,400 watts. They're CBC Radio One. I've never heard them here, but 106.5 is a DXable frequency here, so maybe someday.

Wednesday night brought in five new loggings here in the Hudson Valley, NY.

Two new Canadians, CBL-94.1 Toronto (308 miles) with quite a good signal, and also, CBCK-107.5 Kingston, Ont (218 miles). Also heard classical WNED-94.5 from Buffalo, NY (257 miles).

A couple of closer-in lower-power stations heard: WOKR-93.5 Remsen (Utica), NY "The River" (129 miles, 1150 watts). Also, WBBI-107.5 Endwell, NY "The Bear" with Alcie Cooper Show (112 miles, 1100 watts).

Although I'm noting some tropo Thursday night, nothing too special is being heard.

Funny seeing this thread. We had some interesting tropo on our RPU frequency of 455.3125 in western Ohio with a station in Kitchener Ontario Canada that uses that frequency as their STL. I called the station and they were amazed at the reception.

This extreme heat is screwing things up. Indian summer my ass.

Highs in the low 90s by next week.
Here in Pensacola, FL

Well, this week should be interesting for tropo down here coldfront after cold front.
