Nice Tropo yesterday up and down West Texas

Picked up
KSAN-DT 16
KTXS-DT 20
KFDX-DT 28
KJTL-DT 15
Is there such thing as a moving tropo duct?

I would think a weather front, particularly a warm front, could easily produce a moving tropo duct.

Wow -- what a strange morning -- and I haven't even gotten around to any of the analogs yet to check out the tropo, so here's what cooking in DTV land here in Frisco on the DTX-9950:

KAVU/Victoria (and its subchannel) - varying between a solid 85-90
KIAH and KETH/Houston - in the mid 60's
KXAM/Llano
KWBU/Waco (and its many subchannels -- hope KERA adds some) - a strong mid-70s
KYTX/Tyler - solid in the low 80s and poof...off it went

Meanwhile, the Cedar Hill facilities are either being worked on or the tropo is really acting up.

KHPK's 300 watts is blasting in with a signal in the mid-70s. KJJM-LP is also hitting around 90 (but sister K31GL has vanished). In contrast, KDFW is completely gone as are KTAQ, KSTR and KFWD. Out from Tar Road, both KDFI and KDAF which are typically my strongest (typically 92-95) are struggling to hit 50.

This reminds me of summer 1982 when I was living in Nashville and an opening from NYC was so dominant that WSM-FM was blanketed by WPLJ at 95.5.
