Nick-at-Nite - Why the Schedule Change?

My friends are upset that Nick-At-Nite changed their program schedule. Fresh Prince used to be on at 6:30AM Eastern on Nick-At-Nite West Coast. Now Roseanne is on instead. My friends work the overnight shift (11PM-7AM) at a grocery store and they take their lunch break at 6:30AM. They liked watching Fresh Prince. Now they have nothing to watch at 6:30AM. This morning they were watching "Robin & Company" on Headline News. These friends of mine aren't exactly news hounds and they were making inappropriate comments about Anna Nicole Smith and Jennifer Aniston and one of Jenn's ex-lovers.

Nick always redoes its schedule every few months to go with the seasons. Expect another one in September. As far as the Fresh Prince goes, they might do another marathon later this summer as part of their "Block Party" special. I remember last year, Fresh Prince ran on Tuesday nights-Wednesday mornings. Don't remember if it was through 6AM or for half of the Nite block.

God how I hate Roesanne. She is not funny.. She's just crazy, and when did Mad About You become Nick-at-Nite material? Nick-at-Nite has become a joke.

Mad About You has an interesting motive behind it. One of the biggest issues witht the reality shows is that they killed the sitcom. There are less and less new sitcoms to put into syndication. Traditonally the 1/2 hours sitcoms are the money makers. Hour shows don't do nearly as well in syndicationSo syndicators are dusting off older sitcoms that didn't sell to the first line stations the first time around. Two of these Mad About You and The Nanny are among those making the rounds again.

Can anyone tell me why they replaced Mad About You with yet another episode of Roseanne? Seems like they show Roseanne more often than they do anything else. I think it takes them 2 months now to show all the episodes including the lousy last season. Mad About You was only on the schedule about a month seems like. They showed the marathon that week where among the episodes when the baby was born and Mark McGwire guest starred. On the regular schedule, they only showed the first 2 seasons. Why? Nick at Nite gone Roseanne crazy or something?

Nick should show Cosby instead of that crappy show Roseanne if they need to fill air time. But doesn't Nick have a done of shows they can fill the time slots with?

The question is why did they get Mad About You and Murphy Brown among others in the first place when they knew that they weren't going to give them proper timeslots. Mad About You got a good timeslot but they shucked the show after about a month or so and then they replaced it with Roseanne yet again. They show Roseanne too much as it is as it is on not only Nick at Nite, but Oxygen and local stations as well. Murphy Brown never got a good timeslot at all.Seems to me like they want to enforce Roseanne on us when they show the whole cycle of shows in 2 to 3 months tops. Why?
