Nick FM to finally shut down operations

All the stations that were owned by CSN Virginia started airing full-time Christmas music when Positive Alternative Radio took over programming the stations. It was announced on the Spirit FM website that many of the Nick FM frequencies would start simlucasting Spirt FM on Valentine's morning. Now the Nick FM website has announced that something new would start on the NICK FM signals on Valentine morning.

The homebase of the old Joy-FM network WJYJ 90.5 is missing from the Spirit FM announcement so something else is up for that signal. The translator at 97.7 Alexandria VA is also absent from the Spirit FM list. I am holding to my original position that WJYJ and nearby translators will join forces with WPER.

Hopefully this was a joke. 90.5 would have to go commerical (never happening) and then with it being so low on the dial, no one would find it. More than likely, as Bob from VARTV has been reporting, 90.5 and the translators in this part of the state will rebroadcast Culpeper's WPER. "The 'PER Network"? Who knows, but more than likely that is what will happen.

Rock on,

So...what are the Winchester and Front Royal stations doing right now since they have no format until the end of the week...are they silent?
