Nicki Minaj and Hot97

Just a few months ago Nicki Minaj was playing almost every other song on Hot97. I just looked at their playlist now. She does not show up on ANY song. I am REALLY surprised they are not Spinning "Super Bass" It was #1 on Rhythmic and about to hit #1 on Urban. Did she not pay her $$$ to Emmis or something?

Joke aside Is Payola that bad over there now?

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO CARED ABOUT THIS!

Hot 97 has yet to spin Super Bass, while Rhythmic leaning-CHR 92.3 now has Super Bass in Power. Rival Urban Power 105.1 and Z100 all have Super Bass relatively high in their playlist. Why Hot 97 will not play Super Bass is beyond me. I seriously have no clue. And it cannot be because it is "too pop", because Hot 97 was the FIRST AND ONLY station in New York to pick up Nicki Minaj's "Check It Out", that reached #21 on CHR, and Hot 97 had it spinning 60 times a week at its peak. (Well Z100 might have added it, but I don't believe they did.)

If Hot 97 can play such Pop records as "Beautiful People - Chris Brown", "ET - Katy Perry/Kanye West" (Hot 97 had this at 12 plays per week for roughly a month), "Rolling In The Deep - Adele" (Hot 97 has used the Rhythmic remix in various mixshows) and other CHR records, then they really should be playing Super Bass. Its obviously a hit in NYC as evidence of its high plays at competitor stations, and it hit number one on Rhythmic and is nearing number one on Urban.

Hot97 has Bruno Mars/ Bad Meets Eveil Lighters in their Playlist now. most Urbans wont spin that.

SIDE Note: SuperBass is about to Surpass 100 MILLION views on Youtube. Hot 97 is missing the boat with this one.

It has to be something going on that we don't know about causing Super Bass to get zero airplay on Hot 97. They really are missing out with this one, but I guess they don't care. This really makes me think Payola is alive and well over there.

If "Super Bass" is played in regular rotation on both Hot 97 and Q100, you should walk from New York to Atlanta! And Nicki Minaj should give you free concert tickets for life if you actually walk because of that song.

You mean to tell me that of all stations in New York, of all markets, that "Super Bass" is NOT on power rotation at Hot 97, OF ALL STATIONS?!

If it's especially about to peak at no. 1 on the Urban charts (WJLB, a Urban station, has Super Bass in power rotation) you would think that the same station that's willing to play the same song for 30 minutes straight would play Nicki Minaj in heavy.

It definitey has to be payola.......Hot 97 would NEVER miss out on an opportunity like that.

Funny, I don't see ANY of her stuff on their playlist. This is weird... As big as she is now, she should be in all over their rotation.

You know those singing mounted fish that sing "Take Me To The River"? How soon before we find a new version of the fish singing "Super Bass"? ::)

Update I STILL not heard Superbass on Hot 97 BUT it IS on the Hot97 webpage lol. They are playing SOME Nicki Minaj Again.
