Nicole Hernandez develops Olivia habit

Well, Nicole Hernandez has apparently been watching Olivia Fierro.

Well, what's happening is the happy-go-lucky Channel 12 news anchor has picked up Olivia's habit of starting every story with "well", because she's incapable of transitioning from one story to the other cleanly, just like most people do in everyday conversation.

Well, maybe she can talk to Olivia to see what to do about the problem.

Well, Nicole, don't worry. Maybe Brahm Resnick has some ideas. He's a writer. You never see him use "well" to open a story in the Republic.

Well, that's it's for now, Nicole. Well, good luck finding a solution.

It works in Presidential debates

Well, watching Nicole anchor by herself is positively painful. Brahm adds a lot to "12 News Weekend Today". Hopefully, he was just on vacation this weekend.

If they would pair someone decent with Olivia, I would watch GMAZ weekend. Note to Channel 3 news director: Put Courtney, Scott, or Antwan permanently on GMAZ weekend (or rotate all three of them -- I am sure that they wouldn't mind working weekend am's once a month or so)!!! Kim and Carey just don't cut it -- they sound like my college age sister's friends!

Uh, on a somewhat, uh, related note

I've criticized Caribe Devine in the past for her constant use of "uh". Now I need to give her props: she has improved greatly, and I like listening to her weather reports - her manner is quite pleasant.

Caribe now does well most of the time. However, she does have her, uh, off days. Usually, the, uh, off days are when she is, uh, substituting for, uh, someone else.

Seriously, though, can't they find someone more credible than Amy Brooke to do the morning weather? When I watch Amy, I think "Barbie Doll"! When Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, I noticed that Ron Merrit did the morning weather (thank goodness).
