The replacement for the paper diary will include all forms of audio, from traditional radio to streaming and podcasts. It does not require encoding or a device like the PPM system does. Data will be registered on smartphones, tablets and similar devices, requiring no pen or pencil and no paper diary.
It will give advertisers "same system" measurement of all audio, and provide accurate demographic data which is not truly available no in systems based only on "connections" and which don't know who is connecting or whether they are actually listening at all.
But implementation is still about 2 years away.
